30 Days of running Wayl! Here is what we learnt

After a month since the launch of Wayl, here is a quick review of the most important events and figures.

The service was launched quietly. We did not want to intensify marketing efforts and attract more merchants until we were sure that we were operating correctly. We only shared a launch video that reached about 20,000 views on Instagram.

My main observation on the service is that there is a thirst among merchants to create an online store and provide electronic payment methods to their customers.

Some sectors were requesting the service due to the price difference between the dinar and the dollar on electronic gateways. The tourism and travel sector was looking for a gateway to receive dollars to save dollars for airlines that only accept dollars.

In less than a month, we were able to: Register more than 170 merchants and 130 stores. Upload about 800 products from the merchants. Have around 20 active merchants.

Merchants are still in the process of arranging content and marketing, so payment numbers through the gateways are still modest. We will work closely with merchants to educate customers and increase these numbers in the coming period.

In the next phase, we will intensify marketing and prepare for the post-Ramadan season. We developed tools to help the support team speed up the review of merchants and communicate with them. We also developed other tools to ensure the security and safety of the content on the platform, so any case of selling a product that violates compliance laws can be monitored.

Additionally, we collaborated with UTU Security team to audit the platform's security to ensure the confidentiality of customer information and the security of transactions on it. I will write another post in detail about the collaboration that took place.
